Bad misfire when coming on boost
My V4 type r does not like hot weather, it misfires and cut out as soon as it is coming on boost after about 20 mile. late evening its ok seems it just does it mid afternoon when its hottest. Im running gems ecu with fmic . Any help much appreciated.
If you start to missfire under high boost/high rpm then you might need a smaller gap in your spark plugs.
If the gap is too small you will kill the engine, so use a gauge to get the right gap on each plugs ok.

Mine did this. It was fine normally however after a few hard runs it would start to misfire. Turned out to be a bit of grease on the crank position sensor.
Give that and your camshaft position sensor a good clean.

I could drive it hard all day long and it wouldnt do it, however when the weather is really hot it will do it even if i have driven sensibely?
Its got me totally beat, the only thing i can think of is the induction kit drawing in even more hot air than usual.
Thanks for the replies though, might try your idea daz if putting the air box back on doesnt solve it.
