dont usually boot it in 1st, so havent had this problem before, but i fi boot it off in 1st, tturbo kicks in at about 4-5k and its not a smooth kick in, rather jerky and sometimes a bit of a spluter when it does.

if i go from 1st to 2nd normally then boot it in 2nd, all fine, no problems.

is it just a 1st gear thing ? seems a little late for turbo to kick in, it kicks in,at 4-5k and sends me straight to red line LOL

Yeah, there's not a lot of load on the engine in first gear so initial spool is higher and peak boost is lower.
