The murder of Asian prisoner Zahid Mubarek by a racist cellmate could have been prevented, an inquiry has ruled.

No **** Sherlock? Really? Avoidable you say? You mean avoidable by not locking a known racist thug in the same cell as an Asian guy? I could have saved them several thousands of pounds and told them that!!

FFS - I've heard in the news recently that the police have 'very little intelligence' relating to terrorists - hell - they don't have a fat lot of ******* intelligence when it comes to racist murders either!

 

Police not exactly the same as the Prison Service.

And the purpose of the inquiry was not that conclusion, but basically a reason to dig through the behaviour of the prison service (and give them a public slapping) AIUI.

He was intentionally put in that cell. The officers played a game called 'gladiators' whereby they would place bets on what would happen. The pairing of the deceased and his cellmate was not accidental but actively done so. This came to light when an officer resigned and went public.

anyone know what Zahid Mubarek was in prison for in the first place - strangely that piece of info seems to be omitted from every report Ive seen

 

Theft and interfering with a car. It's on the bottom of the second report.

 

The theft part of his crime was shoplifting.
He stole a £6 packet of razor blades

 

Right so we do away with due process and have random people investigating deaths?

The police don't do the inquests - you're talking crap.
