Default I've had enough

After 3 months of owning my STI Type UK (Obsidian black) I am sick of it. The ride is awful compared to my last car (TT 3.2) and seems to bounce. The tramlining on anything other than a billiard table smooth road is appalling (I thought these cars were supposed to handle well ). The gold wheels draw too much attention and look rubbish once the novelty has worn off and the interior rattles more than a mothercare store. The only thing I like about the car are the pink badges. I am getting rid and buying a classic wagon AND a sportscar for those fun days in the summer (a nice red MX5 springs to mind). I might even settle for a Focus ST but they are a bit too blue collar and macho image for me

he is right though - Scoobys aren't exactly fabled for their build quality.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with Pete

you have had enough of your new sti due to bad handling so your gonna buy an older one ??? you do realise the handling isnt as good in standard form on the classic shape as it is on the newer sti's ??

Anyone with a Classic Wagon will know that it rattles more than a skeleton having a **** in a biscuit tin. That's equal to AT LEAST three Mothercare stores.

The handling on the classic shape cars is significantly better than on the newer STis though the STi has a bit more grip. I've said it here before but if you are sideways in a classic you are having fun while if you are sideways in a New Age STi you are having an accident.

Mine has never had a single rattle

The squeeky rear brake discs on the other hand...damn thing sounds like a wheelbarrow

And blimey is the ride jiggly. I've been using the NSX all week and the ride in the scoob now feels like a cross between a series 2 Land rover and a Fordson tractor, even though it has much softer springs

What a bag of ballox :P
New age STi's do handle better than classics, hence the reason those heavy lardy things do the nurburgring quicker than their classic counterparts.

Im new to the world of Subaru cars... and i spent alot of time in alot of cars before i bought one including the germans offerings (except BMW) and i think the Impreza feels more solid than all of them. I would like to see a Golf or a A3 that is as stiff as the Impreza STi cope without rattles as well as this.

Maybe you just got a bad one (or maybe i got a good one )

Well firstly, reuters wouldn't link directly, and secondly the pics didn't line up properly.

Did you get what I was on about, though?
