Just got my car back from WRC Technologies yeehaw no more need to keep reaching for the manual spray (if you even need to really). Just got it done auto brought parts from Turbobits and WRC Tech fitted. Yeehaw.... Anyone else had this done?

 

Built a small electronic circuit to do it the other day, grand total of £3.50 in parts needed.

Just monitors boost voltage from the MAP sensor and trips an op-amp at a preset level.

 

Wonder if it might use less water but work as well if you also used a temperature switch Ken?

 

Got this kit fitted on mine (supplied by Turbobits) - fitted it myself . Seems to work a treat and actually uses an intelligent processor that monitors intake temp, intercooler temp + injector duty cycle to assess how hard the car is being driven. It is then able to monitor how the car has been driven over the past x number of miles / minutes to predict when it may need to spray and so puts itself on standby.

This all adds up to very efficient use of the spray without fully emptying the bottle every two minutes. A good piece of kit I reckon!

 

Strangly I used a LM747 Dual op-amp so I could have a 2nd trigger as well. Just wanted to get the first system up and running as a test.

Problem at the moment is giving just a pulse to trigger the spray timer, rather that just switching it on. Time to get the 555 timers out I think.

I find it really annoying having to fumble around trying to find the manual button.

 

Thats what I hated doing. The unit is on turobits do a google it's about £100 then you have to fit it anywhere from 2 - 5 hours depending on your skill and what you have already I have some ICE to navigate round but saves me an accident now trying to find the button.

 

i just bought auto button from usa and fitted it myself press once and sprays till you stop £20-sorted

Huh you mean like a continuous stream of water? Why would you want that? This measures temp outside, temp intercoller, injection cycle, etc and then provides the spray when needed.
