Default Loose heat shield affecting knock sensor?

I went to my 94 classic after leaving it standing for a couple of weeks and the check engine light was on, this was accompanied by a severe miss fire when trying to hoof it, normal driving was fine. After a quick check over of sensor connectors the only thing I could find was a loose heat shield on the exhaust I fixed this and cured the rattle. A short drive after this showed the light to have gone out and the car to drive fine. Does anyone think it could have been setting off the knock sensor?
