Default Bloody crank pulley bolt..

Is this a known weakness or are we just being unlucky?? Its come loose TWICE now even with thread lock? Nearly lost the crank pulley this time!

It was tightened with a torque wrench with the car in gear, why is the bloody thing comming loose? It makes no sense?

it's because it's being done by a bandit! go to subaru and get them to do it with the special tool.

Oh the special tool?? Whats that??

A Socket that has been blessed by Wesak Monks under the Bodhi Tree on a tuesday afternoon just before lunch which is on the shelf next to the mystic oilfilter tool that must be used to prevent bottom end failure after oil changes?

Thread worn on the bolt? Maybe worth seeing how much Subaru will shaft you for a new pulley bolt.

Either that or your torque wrench is crap (often caused by leaving the spring tensioned when not in use- although, some can be miles out from new). Or if your very unlucky the thread in your crank is screwed (pun not intended).

The bolt looks pretty good.. My neighbour is a tool maker so I'll ask him nicely to knock up a high tensile version, he's just dont an amazing job on the new intercooler, will post some pics when it goes in

Just when I thought Subaru parts prices couldn't get any worse!

I nearly had to buy a set of bolts form by turbo/downpipe. But I managed to find some that were the right thread and length in my bucket of odd nuts and bolts.
