What is this Valve Key bit all about?


Some theiving git stole the last set of metal valve caps off my wheels the other night, popped up to Halford today to get a replacement set, and they only had these ones with a ridiculous piece of metal sticking out the top, why?

 

That `piece of metal` is probably to enable you to bleed excess pressure off after over-inflation.

Try popping in to a local tyre co.; my friendly dealer issues them for free. If you`ve a problem obtaining them email me and I`ll post you a set (after Nov. 29th though).
