Question

Referring to the SIDC Brandshatch trackday Oct 27th which is sold out twice.

Has anyone organized a photographer for the day? I'm aware there was someone who took photos at the Donnington day.

I'm sure that there will be a great interest to those lucky 50/60 who managed to get there cars on the track.

...Ian (not a photographer and don't know of any).

Hi Ian

I am going to BH as a spectator - Don't profess to be an expert, but I may be able to get hold of a digital camera and take some shots.

Amyone else going like to do the same?

Chris

I attended the RS National day at silverstone. They had a company that took photos of the cars. I received two proofs for selection. The companies name is Interschnapz. Maybe they can help.

Hi Chris,
I was hoping to find a thread about BH. Obviously from your comments spectators are allowed in OK? Excuse my ignorance, but I haven’t been to one of these before...Its a long way from Bournemouth so I would rather have a few details before going all the way up there... I have MY00 first Scooby, so it will be good to see a few faces etc..
Can you or somebody give me any info..
Thanks - Roger

Speaking to Stef, it is "open season" for photographers. There's a chap from a dealer in Canterbuty & 1 or 2 others that have expressed an interest.

I will be there as well & will be taking a few rolls whilst PTMW! cools down.

If anyone wants pics of their car, find me (not hard ) & let me know their car - I'll sort the rest

I will be practising locations for shots tomorrow at WSB

Work allowing, I should be along as well with my new Digital Camera.

I'm no professional, but if any one wants some stills (or very blurred) action shots, let me know.

Cheers,

Chris.

I'll be going along spectating and will also be taking a half decent 'normal' camera for decent quality shots, plus my new digital mpeg4 video camera - anyone fancy spinning it for me to catch on film??

all of this is subject to brands allowing me decent access to the track. They normally for bike track days so long as i sign the consent form, so i don't see why not.
Does someone who's organising fancy asking for me ?

I did consider attending, but with the inevitable presence of Interschnapz, and the rather appathetic attitude of owners, it's just not worth it anymore.

Everyone wants a photographer at these events, but nobody wants to buy pix. Quite frankly, it's really irritating how many people have used my proofs on their web sites or as wallpaper, yet don't even have the courtesy to give me a by-line, let alone anything else. Grumble over.

To all those who have offered to take a few shot, some advice......I would suggest that you make contact with the circuit before the event, as I find most tracks are more helpful if you give them notice. If you don't speak to them, there's always a chance that they'll refuse you trackside access on the basis you're trying it on.

Have fun all!

Josh

I can recommend Picture Management (http://www.picturemanagement.co.uk) who photographed a recent track day I attended. They have a high quality digital SLR and upload the numerous images directly to PCs so you can preview straight away before you buy. They take pictures of everyone and then you can select the ones you want. They can then either print the pictures as photographs, or give them to you on a CD-ROM.

Andrew.

I guess from the replies that you have probably got enough info. I'll be there officially as Puff's no.2 mechanic .
Stef did confirm that spectators are allowed. Do a search in the southern events section and you should find all the details. You maybe able to blag a ride as well (as long as you have access to a helmet).

Josh thanks for the info - I guess like most people, I was thinking of bringing a camera for a few casual shots. Anyone got a contact name/number for Brands to check on the photography issue?

Cheers

Chris

Right all.

Budding TRACKSIDE photographers MUST sign on at the Foulston Centre, where they will be given a wristband after signing the disclaimer.

If you just want to take pics from the normal spectator areas - no prob.

Spectators ARE DEFINATELY allowed at Track Days & there is NO charge for admission.

Question

Puff,
You've got a spare lid and have said that peeps willing to be amazed (or is that scared ) may passenger in the Magic Wagon.

What exactly does one have to do to do this. eg; How do you get in pit lane, what if anything needs to be signed? Cost (apart from few pints , of water of course )

As you can tell I'm a bit of a Trackday Spectator Virgin.

Just be there

Drive in either through Main Gate or Paddock & head through tunnel to pits.

Once there, find a scooby with a "passenger licence". Ask/demand a ride.

Coffee/Tea in return for laps will - I am sure - be appreciated

As said, I will gladly photograph your beast but only if its clean Don't wish to compromise the quality of my photos
