Default Mystery Numeric Keypad - HELP

Hi, I need a bit of help.

I recently bought a scooby WRX 2.0 (2002 plate) and it goes well after a few teething problems (tyres).

Today I looked in the coin holder (small drawer like the ash tray but down under the fog lamp switches - If you remove the coin holder the fuses are behind it) and found that it had a small numeric keypad (about 5cm wide and 3cm high) neatly fitted in it. It seems to be inactive (led on it isn't lit). A small bundle of wires goes from it into the car.

Does anyone know what it is for?? The alarm system and immobiliser works off the key etc. and the garage who sold me the car didn't know it was there. The manual just shows an empty coin holder - so I am confused as to what it's function mught be. I am also very loath to touch it in case it is another (??) immobiliser and if I activate it and it requires a code which I do not have.

Help - any suggestions please ???

Entrailies.

it's the keypad for the immobiliser system. It is used for changing options and various other stuff...

as above you can change settings like auto lock on starting engine. if you phone subaru or call at your local dealers i'm sure they'l be able to give you a alarm book and codes etc
