Default Front side windows

Does anyone else have scratches in the middle of both windows? Someone said it was a bit of a scooby weakness, something happens in the window mechanism and it scratches the windows when they're going up and down?

Got a quote to replace them the other day, it's going to cost around £400 as the wrx has a bronze tint but UK's are blue so I'm going to have to fork out for four side windows in blue - unless I can find a breakers that have a wrx in with bronze tints

Pah!

Not sure where to put this btw sorry if it's in the wrong place

yep, my drivers side has got them.

When I do get round to sorting mine, I was intending to use some jewellers rouge (don't know where to get from though!!) to try and polish out the scratches. I have certainly had success with this on an old car that had wiper blade scratches in the windscreen.

Sorry it's taken so long to get to this - thanks for the reply, it's appreciated

Not thought of jewellers rouge (no idea where to get it from either) Was rather hoping someone might have an idea of what would be causing it having never had the door cards off on any car I'm not sure what's 'normal' and what's not

Let me know if the jewellers rouge works though, I think mines past saving but it's worth a try if I can work out what's causing it in the first place

cheers

Same here, my '99 RS as well as my 05 WRX. Same scratches, same place. My guess is there is somthing hard within the door which presses/rubs against the windows to maintain alignment. It gets some sand/grit on it and it then preceeds to grind the grit into the glass. I should someday soon open the door panels up and see if I can do something to lessen/eliminate further damage.
