Question Replacing battery for Clifford alarm remote

I think maybe I have a low or dead battery in my remote...

Will it be safe to open the remote to see which battery it needs or does a dealer have to do this?

I went to Halfords and they said they are not allowed to open remotes due to warranty etc which I understand.

It's a Clifford Conept 300 (4 years + old)

Any advice is welcome.
