Can i fit a induction kit on my 96 import without a remap?

Default Can i fit a induction kit on my 96 import without a remap?

Thinking about putting a hks mushroom type air filter on my 1996 jap import wrx, but will the engine run ok or will it bugger everything up? will i need a remap or should everything be ok?? thanks in advance

mine had filter and full decat ran fine for a year before the other mods and remap

Did you put the filter on, or was it on when u bought the car? which filter was it mate?

Why do you want to sap power? If you want one, there are better filters.

Use the search, do some research.

it was on when i got the car its a blitz sus filter but going to change to a apexi after looking about and finding this

You wont gain any power on an Impreza and you may also sap some torque.

Unless you are going for way over 300bhp, your stock airbox with a good panel (K&N) will be more effective in reducing heat soak. It gets damn hot under the lid, and you wont have a cold air feed if you put a cone in.

Ooh, Ooh Dark Blue Marks back on the scene. Good to see you, i guess the S2000 has gone then ???

P. S Agree with what your saying. Induction kits are a waste of time, make too much noise, gulp air and confuse the eCU load calculations. Only worth chaging if running 360BHP+ and mapped accordingly.
