Default Traction Control / ABS

A quick query you might be able to help me with as a new 05 WRX owner.

The other day I was driving to work in the wet and approaching a small roundabout I decided to power into the roundabout and try to get the rear end out. However although I didnt touch the break the ABS seemed to kick in mid turn (the usual dud dud dud was heard from the wheels). Is there a reason why this would happen - I assumed ABS wouldnt kick in unless I was breaking???

Shouldn't be the ABS as there is no stability control..! iirc there is EBD but only when braking..!

You sure it was the ABS pulsing and not somehing else..?
