Any one know if the spare tyre is legal to remove!!! as i was going to stick it in the garage!!! to save weight!!

Yes it is OK to remove. The only stipulation with regards to the spare wheel is that in an MOT if it is present, it has to have legal tread on it. Not illegal to remove though.

LOL - but a big weight saving for you if you have to walk 20 miles home!!!

 

It might be worth mentioning that in a recent accident I was involved in, the spare wheel actually stopped the boot area from being totally demolished.
The inflated tyre seemed to have absorbed a great deal of the shock.

Yeah, dead right, when my Alfa was rear-ended, the spare tyre stopped the whole lot folding in and destroying my amps.

Car was still a write off though
