as title really, as far as im aware there were time categories for the 1/4, so assuming thats the same maybe it could be useful to outline exactly what they are for people so they have a complete picture...
also, would there be a similar deal with the handling? or would it be a case of whichever section you fell in to in the 1/4 would determine the class of the handling?
Im sure other people would want to know about this as well, so maybe an official answer would be appreciated
ta all!

we are still to confirm what prizes are on offer, basically all trophy awards / prizes are sponsorable, and Shaun is the man to speak to about that.
however, the basic list would would be as follows;
drag- class structure as per straightliners rwyb classes, ie 14.5s, 13.5s, 12.s etc. if you break out of a class you move into the next one up. fastest time of the day also usually wins the top car class.
handling finals- trophies tbc but probably the top 5 cars on time from the day will enter the handling shootout, one lap each with no practise or warm up. fastest then wins the handling shootout. we'll probably do trophies etc also for top 3 during the day on time. depends also on any sponsored prizes as to extent of awards given on handling.
drag shootout- top 8 cars from the day go head to head, first across the line wins, eliminating one each time. trophy and prize for the winner of the drag shootout.
we've also decided to offer free entry to TOTb5 to the handling shootout and the drag shootout winners.
full details to follow on trophies and prizes, but i know some decent awards have been offered already.

lol
@dill
no reaction times. just 60ft and 1/4 mile. in the shoot offs it is first past the post irrespective of 1/4 mile time. last years winner was actually slower in the head to head, just got a much better start.

Hi Bob
just awaiting final confirmation in a couple of things, but so far we have prizes donated by (in no particular order as yet)
Zen Performance
Lateral Performance
Jap Performance magazine
Scoobyclinic (details tbc)
G Lock
Ten of the Best Ltd
and a couple more to chase/confirm.
we would also be happy to discuss any further proposals for prizes with anyone interested in sponsoring.
we will run classes on the 1/4s the same as for rwyb straightliners events, to make life simpler, and these will actually now be 14.3s, 13.3s, 12.3s etc for 2006.
We should be able to clarify all the trophies and prizes within the next 2 weeks we hope and publish a full list.
