Brake back plates
If you will forgive an interloper. I have 1999 Subaru Forester S Turbo fitted with AP 4 pots and 304 mm discs running 2003 WRX 17 inch wheels. Standard brake back plates were removed which I believe is usual practice. However there is a slight danger I am told that with for example a split CV boot or similar oil leak the rear of the discs can become contaminated. Will Impreza back plate refit the Forester (I assume it does) but also give clearance for AP set up. Which year or are back plates same up to 2005.

Hello,
The largest discs on most impreza's are 297mm so the backing plate will not fit the 304mm discs. The late STI's have discs larger than 297mm so they might fit but you would have to confirm the size with a dealer/breaker/
