97 sti v3
hi there, new member just joined today, i bought a 97 sti III import this week, never had a scooby before, always wanted one, as a new owner is there anything i should know about this car from your own experiance it's 280bhp with a few mods.

I has an MY97 Sti for a couple of years and it was pretty much trouble free motoring except for a couple of small blips.
Mine came with a Blitz SUS filter but i switched back to traditional airbox with a green panel filter to help save the MAF (I was told this was a sensible move). I also had a decat and atmos dumpvalve which caused the car to overboost at times. By adding a Blitz boostcontroller (and knocklink) I ran a safe 300bhp at 1.25bar on Optimax + millers.
Enjoy mate - I had great fun only bettered by my current STi8 with 350bhp and twinscroll.

If its an import always use shell optimax + some octane booster, or risk blowing the engine. The imports car run on 100ron in japan, or have the car remapped on a apexi FC ecu
