I would like advice on upgrading my exhaust system without invalidating the warrenty.
I've currently got a P1 (STi embossed) backbox on my MY99 'T' reg turbo.
Do I stick with it or go for a Prodrive backbox.
Can you buy the Prodrive backbox seperatly rather than going for the all inclusive performance pack.

As I understand it, there are two Prodrive b/boxes. One is used with the PPP and is not available seperately (apart from secondhand via this bbs). The other is available on its own and has a different exit pipe configuration.

I seem to remember one is an oval (maybe a twin-oval) and the other is a round pipe but can't say for sure which is which.

Faced with the same problem myself - I have just bought a s/hand Prodrive BB, oval and labelled with WR Sport. I can get you the part no if you are interested, not sure about the warranty though !

The BB you have is the same as the one you get with the PPP, with a round tailpipe. Shouldn't affect warranty as its part of the PPP. But you can not get it separately from a dealer, only secondhand.

You can also get a WR Sport BB with an oval tailpipe. These are available for about £350 from a dealer and will not invalidate your warranty.

Oh and you should be able to fit any BB so long as it is of good quality to retain your warranty. I've never heard of any dealer or Subaru complaining of a non standard BB if there is a warranty claim.

Hi, it looks as if i've already got the PPP spec backbox.
Do you know if Subaru/prodrive do the ecu upgrade as a seperate item.
I don't really want to have to buy the all inclusive PPP if i already have the spec'd backbox.
