Default help with sti ej25 short block

I recently put an sti short block in my legacy GT2.5 with the sti head gaskets, but leaving the stock heads. This didn't seem to work very well, it has ok power, but low compression & HORRIBLE economy!

I live at 9000 ft & drive to 11,000 twice everyday so the lack of power is a big downer & it's costing me a fortune in gas!

Any suggestions on how to (easily) solve this problem?

thanks,
kaleb

std N/A pistons and head gaskets will bring it back to normal...........why did you use a turbo block??

By fitting a turbo block/pistons to an N/A engine you've gone from running around a 10:1 compression ratio to 8.5:1 (at a guess, but the drop will be close to that) naturally the engine will not be happy as a result.

As Alyn says fitting N/A pistons and rods will cure this, but that means taking the engine appart and starting over...

Alternatively you could fit a turbo...that would get everything back...and some, but you would also need a mapable ecu
