Question Buy Subaru and use in Europe then import to UK

Anyone know how to buy a scooby at a huge saving by buying in Europe, use abroad in Europe for say 6 months then import to UK?? Any contacts? and is the saving worthwhile? I have this opportunity and need a new scooby to import to UK in say October, so will need to buy by May.
What European country would be cheapest for initial registration e.g. Germany?
Anyone done it?

If you buy in europe you have to pay that country's tax if you are staying there, most other country's tax is higher than ours, thats why they are cheaper to initially buy.(finland is about 50%).
Got mine from Belgium through a broker(MY02WRX), ended up saving around £4k.took a couple of months.
To be honest i would get my next one from a supermarket or litchfields, same price as europe i think.

Yep to the above. Many dealers offer HM Forces "big discounts" for export but they can and sometimes are more expensive than Litchfields or Allbrandsnew etc.

funnily enough i am in the forces and the "tax free prices" are a pure rip off.if i was based in Germany when i got my Car i could have got it for a mere 13-14k.
will do it the same way again if i ever go back to Germany
