Default headphones?

hi all,

i was just wondering if anyone knows if it possible to use a pair of stereo headphones via a rca line out on the rear of my car stereo? the head phones i have, have a volume control on them.
i was just going to grab a 2 rca to 3.5 jack socket adaptor.

thanks for any help/advice in advance

The line out won't have enough power to drive the headphones I'm afraid. It 'should' be protected so that if you tried it it didn't blow the line driver in the HU, but I doubt it's a good idea.

You would need a headphone amplifier of some sort, maybe one of these?

Or this 'could' work:
