Exclamation Carefull with Castrol Response Brake Fluid!

I recently purchased Castrol's Response brake fuid from Halfords to find there was no air-tight seal on the bottle!

I returned to Halfords thinking I bought a duff bottle, but no! All bottles had no air-tight seal. This is DOT-4 fluid, so it does absorb moisture from the air.

This makes the fluid absolutely useless, so check carefully before buying/using.

Ben

While we're on with it, beware of Automec Silicone Brake Fluid. I went through 2 master cylinders because of that $h!te. The company never answered one letter or email when I attempted to contact them It does state on the packaging that it unsuitable for Rolls Royce and some Renault braking systems, but I put it in a VW and foobarred the MC in 3 months. Fitted a new one and put in different fluid and it went again 2 months later. All I can guess is that there was some of this $h!t still in the system. Did a proper flush out on the next go and it's been fine ever since.
