Fleet News today mentions the above, the D standing for Discreet (or dismal). Limited run of 300 initially and instead of, "...it's [STi's] flashy gold wheels and huge rear spoiler [will have] a smaller spoiler, sat nav and an upgraded stereo."

What's the reasoning behind this then? Are they trying to make Subarus more mainstream? Doesn't sound as if it's going to look to good.

I think that looks rather nice with its leather seats and sat nav etc, be class if u do a lot of miles and want something other than a BMW or such like thats sporty looking but not too much.

especially if its Quick
