Driven an 03Sti and an Sti 5 - prefer the classic. Its quicker (feels quicker anyway), lighter, has the rawer experience that gives you that more involved drive. IMHO anyway !

I have an STI 3. Had several little plays with new age ones and they are not as fast generally. Tried an STI PPP and was quicker at all speeds. Tried a WR1 and was very similar from low speed up, neither could catch the other.

I had an STI IV for five years before I changed to a MY05. The classic felt (and was) very fast, and was always ready for a bit more - possibly due to its light weight.
The MY05 is a completely different experience - heavier, more sophisticated and rides better. It also has proper brakes!
