i doubt it has an RCA output so you would have to use a line level convertor! not a good way of doing it though sound quality will not be very good at all. change head unit is the best option tbh.

Have a look at http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/

Sony headunits do not have the best reputation, to be honest, so if I were you, I'd look at something else unless you want to go "all sony".

Like scoobysmiff says, there are no RCA outputs on the standard WRX radio, so you will have to get either converters or a new stereo. The standard stereo is pants anyway, so just get a new one of them.

If the sony amp puts out anyhwere near that amount of power, you will need beefy wiring. Do *not* get some cheap 8awg kit from somewhere, go for the proper 0AWG kit from Car Audio Direct. It's very good value for money (50 quid) and includes all the cables you need.

Also, you should really look into upgrading the front speakers too. You will have to manufacter 12mm MDF spacers (do a search here).

If you want to fit a single DIN stereo, you will need to get a "pocket" from subaru to fill out the other half of the hole left from the std stereo. Alternatively, you can go for the Subaru Forester pocket, which is more like a little drawer (search this forum for part number and instructions).

Finally, get some sound deadening and deaden the door skins and the boot. It will make a world of difference.

If you have any questions, just ask

The problem with double DIN seems to be that they are twice the price for the same thing. At least that is the way it seems to me.

If I had that kind of budget for a head unit, I would go for the Pioneer DEH-P9600MP for 370 pounds, or even the Pioneer DEHP77MP for 210 pounds. The last one is an excellent head unit for the price.

I would personally not go for any Sony equipment, but that's purely my personal opinion. I think they feel flimsy and I don't like the looks. They are too "chav" for me (That might be totally unfair on Sony, but that's how I feel )

Also, if you have a big'ish budget, you should really consider amping your front speakers. It will make a massive difference to the sound. Generally, it doesn't matter how many million watt a head unit manufacturer claims their head units output. It still sounds pants when you crank it up, and I think your sound will feel unbalanced if you have 1600W for your subs and 46 for your fronts.

You don't need anything incredibly expensive for the fronts, something like the JBL GTO75.2 for 80 pounds is a very good choice.
