Question cheap CD HU wanted - advice please

I want to replace the old Sony 5070 CD player in my '97 Scoob - the display has failed and you can't see what track is playing or what frequency the radio tuner is on

So... looking for either cheap basic replacement or would pay a bit more for one with MP3 capability. There is so much choice out there it's taking me ages checking availability on ebay & then looking up spec of unit on google...

I quite like the active black panel stuff from Sony - any pros / cons with this? - I like the idea of not having to remove the 'removable face plate' cos I just can't be bothered to cart the thing around - nasn't been a problem with the 5070 - nobody would want it anyway

So any advice on low end kit/ MP3s / lazy mans security???

Cheers

Mick

Just bought a Panasonic MP3 CD unit for the wife's Xantia.

It's a CQ-C1311NW, and I paid £115 including a fascia adaptor which was £20.

Nice looking and sounded good in the dealers. (Audio Island, Brigg, North Lincs)
