Question radio wiring colour codes=?

A few years back I wired up my radio/cd player but with some difficultly as the previous owner had completely removed the wiring connector block, so I had to find out the colour codes to each wire & diy make my own connector.

Now the time has come to upgrade to a new mp3 player, however I am having trouble finding the correct connector that matches the exsisting one.
So I would like to start all over again, but even with a long search I cannot seem to find the thread on wiring colour codes for the radio.

Does anyone know the colour codes to the radio wiring & the meaning?
(Live, ign live, earth etc) pre96 car.

Thanks Ticky

Usually you have a permanat live which is Red and a switchable live which is yellow, Allthough these can be interchangable on most looms using bullet type connectors to allow you to match the cars electrics.
Blue is for power antenna or for switching things like amps on. Black is earth, the speaker wires are usually in pairs oranage with black stripe, black with orange stripe etc....

Hope that is of some help to you.
Mark.

Thanks Mark.
I am going to get a tester to check for the perm live & ign live.
I might even get one of my amps wired up, considering my standard front speakers need upgrading so might make its easier wiring them up.
