Default Crunching clutch pedal?

Hope someone can help with this cos it's a bit odd, never experienced it before

Sometimes when I push the clutch pedal down I get a kind of crunching feeling through the pedal, it only seems to happen when I am braking heavily at the same time, coming into a corner a bit quick for instance.

Any ideas on what it could be, is this related to the release bearing?

Probably the clutch master cylinder seals, They become juddery when worn, Check the rod that goes into the bulk head from the clutch pedal , Into a black seal, give it a squeeze is it damp ?? Brake fluid. Considering you are connected to the gearbox between a pipe filled with brake fluid, you would be hard pushed to feel anything else grinding other than the clutch master cylinder.
