Hi Everbody!!

Sometime ago I purchased a 2litre sport engine out of a written off Subaru Impreza. The car breaker at the time couldn't remember exactly what year it was out of. Seen as I have never actually fitted it and has now gathered dust I would like to sell it but, what I would like to know is there anyway of telling the approximate year of manafacture by the markings on the engine? I know about the EJ20 etc but is there any other markings on the engine to put me in the right direction or is there a website that lists the approximate year by the engine number
