Default MY06 WRX price

Out of interest, anyone got any idea what an MY06 UK model is going to cost?

If the price is higher than £20500, I wonder what effect it may have on MY05 prices later in the year. Sooner or later, circumstances will be such that it may be quite difficult to get hold of an MY05 either new or used and at the same time, the UK MY06 wont arrive for a few months yet, so will this affect resale values of MY05s temporarily?

I live in eternal hope!

Can't see the new price being that much higher (if any), and I'm sure a lot will wait for the new model. If other years are anything to go by, next years model will be released a lot sooner than next year - they are probably on the boat already. The car supermarkets still seem to have plenty of 05 stock at less than 16k so I can't see the resale values of the MY05s being that good.

The car supermarkets are selling imports on the whole so not really comparable and people are starting to report shortages in several colours.

Best delivery date for a UK car is for an STI in October/November, and nobody seems to be quoting a price yet for the WRX - in fact if you do a google search on MY06 WRX, the only results are for the STI - very little information exists about the WRX - which if they were to be on sale imminently seems very strange.

I was surprised to see that Subaru's website makes no reference to the MY06, and even more surprised to see that the price of a JDM STI on Litchfields was not much less than the outgoing UK STI (which you can buy with PPP free).

Auto Express reported that Subaru were soon to be putting the prices up as they were selling the cars too cheaply for what the buyer gets.
Their advice was to buy one while you can at the current prices.

Auto Express also mentioned in one issue the following website:-

http://www.subarudemonstratorsale.co.uk/

where UK dealers advertise their demonstrator cars for sale.
Apparently bargains to be had now and again.

Yup, because putting the price up is going to tempt people to buy an Impreza over an Audi, Merc or BMW.....

Going by every other time a new Impreza has come out I would imagine the price will stay the same and residuals of the old car will take a hit.
