Angry Welptons Subaru in Hull :(

Just got my car back from MOT at Welptons Subaru near Kingston upon hull and after re fitting my higher intensity lights i noticed that some little B#####d has pushed all the fins down on my intercooler. i mean EVERY fin...

why would they do this???? its something that a kid wouldnt even bother doing! Its so damn petty... ... ...

anyway, left a telephone msg on answer machine for them to ring me back ASAP in the morning. i will be throwing a few ****'s in to them i think!!!!!

and to think i went there (the most expensive place to get an MOT @ £45) as i generally trust scooby dealers. - not now sorry...

how much would you say for new MY00 Turbo intercooler would be if i had to replace myself???

Thats extremely poor to say the least. I live in Hull and would never go to Welptons as they are always more expensive than anyone else, a bit snotty and lacking in expertise in my opinion. Jamesment, who also posts on here I believe had a problem with them scratching his car at its 1k service. You must kick up a big stink about it. I take it Welptons are responsible for your very expensive 30k service with pads at £550.

If you are in Hull I would rather go to Jordans on Witham. Although they no longer have the Subaru franchise they are still Subaru registered for parts and servicing. They are more enthusiastic about the cars and really know much more what they are doing.

Yeah, agreed.

Stay away from Welptons...

Left my car for a 1k service, not only did they scratch it, but when they phoned me said

'Your Sti is ready sir'

errr WTF it's a WRX...doesn't instill confidence...

Don't know if its any use, but I might have my newage WRX intercooler going cheap next week ish (and I'm in Hull).

Don't know if it fits, though.

FFS, its not the end of the world. Just get them to bend all the fins back up.

Fins get bent over easily, and mechanics have a habit of using the intercoolers as a tool tray, and consequently bend them over, by accident.

If its every single fin then start thinking about who's been using a high pressure jet near it??
The power is enough to bend them over - giving the scoop a good old clean is not recommended.

cheers for the replies. turns out that it might of been a jet wash after looking closely at pictures before and after. just that there are more down now which i guess they are responsible for?? who knows... not enough evidence i suppose.

also, i have streightend 3 columns of fins now so about 10 to go. not the end of the world i guess then...

Well said that man.

If you are in Hull give Links Autos a bell and speak to John Lindsay. Impreza Enthusiast and top mechanic. Very good prices.
