Mate of mine at work had a new engine put in his car just before christmas and it went pop a few weeks ago. He took it back to the garge that put the engine in and they have fixed it and now said he has to pay as there is no warranty on it. I belive it was a brand new eninge and its not quite running standard power but surely he should still have a warranty with it being a brand new engine

It might be a 3 month warranty 3000 miles......it depends on the garage & what job they did. Though your friend should have got a receipt & warranty documents at the time.
