Question ecu

just brought a 95 wrx import which im running on optimax is it worth getting the ecu remaped and will this affect performance in any way.

I wouldnt bother re maping unless you really, really want to. A 95 car will run fine on optimax without octain booster. Minimum optimax though. If you do remap it you could have it tweked to run about 15psi and then it would be mega quick. If i were you i would get some new brakes first as the o.e ones are crap.

'Wagons will fare better on Optimax alone than Saloons will as they have a smaller turbo and a completely different map..... Also; when they were made Japan had lower octane 'Super' than they do now which most people dont seem to realise.

Cars of this age cant be re-mapped though, you have a choice: either try to find a ScoobyECU (if you have a Saloon) if you can or get an A'Pexi PowerFC, which is a replacement ECU. Andy Forrest can supply and map this for £750 whichd be money well spent.
