Mine has developed a strange faint rumbling noise from the front (I think)noticeable at slow speeds where the tyre roar doesn't drown it out. Can't say as I've noticed this before has anyone else got it? Also, there is a strange metallic clonking coming from either the front offside strut or steering column bottom?? when I hit a bump/bumps mid right hand corner. Anyone else noticed this or is it a job for Mr Subaru Dealer? Handling seems fine but the clonking sounds like something isn't right.

 

Not noticed any of the above mentioned problems on mine. I would get it into Subaru even if its just to put your mind at rest. Thats what a warrenty is for after all

 

Not had it from the front but have got it on the nearside rear end, a clunking/knocking at low speeds as you said. I'm sure it's there all the time but the road noise drowns it out. Supposedly it's a KNOWN common fault on STi's and is something to do with the shock housing. Mine's in for repair tommorrow morning and is obviously covered by warranty. I'd say get it in to your local dealer and don't let them try and fob you off.

 

Had both rear dampers changed under warranty. The symptom was a faint clunk and a sensation of the rear droppingt a fraction as slowing to a halt. Fine since done (15 k miles ago)
