Differential guard is a plate that bolts under the diff to protect it when "rallying". Probably looks trick.
Prodrive springs should be good although with a harsher ride with prob a reduced ride height.
I dont think the prices of Sti 8 will fall out of the sky (with the release of the new model) anymore than they have done already as long as it has the PPP. It is still a desirable good looking motor.

Far too expensive, you can get a new one with free PPP for probably not much more...

I agree with Russell too expensive at that price. You should be able to beat that by a few thousand if you can compromise on the diff guard and prodrive springs.
Dont get one without PPP is my advice. Try getting a price to change on a new one I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
