Unhappy SVA - 1997+ Model Report

I've got a late 97 WRX coming in from Japan.

I know it's covered by a model report but it's got aftermarket exhaust and alloys - will these need to be changed for the SVA test and made bulk standard?

Any other pointers? I hate SVAs!!!

Cheers,

Rob.

Usually a good idea to put as much standard stuff on it as u have for an ESVA.

Providing its not too loud and will pass emissions test should be ok.

I put standard centre and BB on when i did mine , then put aftermarket back on later. Not sure on wheels, but make sure your tyres have correct speed ratings for the cars top speed you quote on sva form.

A lot comes down to interpretation, and the discretion of the testing station; but if its taken away for compliance testing then theyre likely to be far keener.

What's the *offical* speed rating for an import?

I had a Surf in for an SVA this week and it failed on tyres....ones on were rated to 99mph and I'd put 100mph on the form!!!!!

4 new boots and a **** load of work later and I got it passed today.

I know the WRX will need a model report - 11/1997 1st registered. It's got a non standard exhaust and a few other bits on it.

You mean the tyres ??? If so difficult to say. Thats y its good to have uk ones on, V or Z rated.

If you meant car speed, if it wasnt delimited then 112 mph, if delimited your going to have to quote around 140, otherwise they gonna think ur telling loads of porkies. V rated tyres will then be within spec as they rated at 149 mph.
