Funny thing is that up until this week - since owning the car from new just over 2 years ago - I found that the air con had such a dramatic drain on power that I only switched it on once a week to keep it lubricated as you're supposed to do. Not only was it a drain but it also was rubbish.

Anyway, when I was having my car serviced the other day (subaru4you) I popped in to see how things were going and noticed they were re-charging the air con. Len had someone in demoing the kit so I was a lucky recipient of a test and the guy was laughing that I had around 120 grammes of gas when it should have been 500 (rough figures). He said that was why it had such a performance drain as the compressor was having to work much harder?

To sum up, it hardly blunts the performance for normal driving and blasts out a serious chill now. Worth having a re-charge on the air con every so often then

Mike
