Big Al Staying Another Season
If it had been tomorrow, I would have thought it was Sky's attempt at a (poor) April Fools joke.
IF it's true, CHAMPION!!!!!!!
Bet he got a payrise thrown in
He's still the man even at 34.
Good on him
Andy.

Newcastle UnitedAlan Shearer has confirmed that he will stay on as a player for Newcastle next season.
The former England hit-man had been set to end his illustrious career at the close of the current campaign but has now elected to prolong his time in football as a player.
An excellent campaign has yielded 18 goals in just 30 starts for the St James' Park favourite and this latest news will delight the black and white side of the North East.
Toon boss Graeme Souness intimated that he thought Shearer would continue for another season and now the player has concurred with his manager's wishes.
Despite being in his 35th year, Shearer has proven that he is still one of the sharpest predators in The Premiership and will now report to pre-season training with the rest of his Newcastle team-mates.
Shearer's decision will come as a massive relief for Souness, who would have been left short of striking options - with Craig Bellamy having seemingly played his last game for the club and the future of Patrick Kluivert still undecided.
With Jackie Milburn's goalscoring record in his sight, it is expected that Shearer could well top Newcastle's charts by the close of next season.
It is expected that both player and club will make official statements on Friday.

and from Team Talk
Newcastle captain Alan Shearer is to postpone his retirement and play on for another season in a bid to become the club's all-time top scorer.
The former England striker was due to end his 17-year professional career in May after constantly insisting over the last few months that he had no intention to carry on playing.
However, the Magpies' talismanic striker is just nine goals short of legendary Jackie Milburn's club-record total of 200 and there has been speculation from some quarters he would carry on.
Newcastle manager Graeme Souness has made a point of trying to get Shearer to change his mind since he took over at St James' Park from Sir Bobby Robson in September.
Souness redoubled his efforts after the now infamous public row with Craig Bellamy, which saw the Wales forward offloaded to Celtic on loan in January, and with increasing doubts about the value of Patrick Kluivert to the team

So no April Fools joke then Richie??
However, the board should still be looking at buying another striker(s) in the summer, or at the latest, January's window.
Who knows what might happen??
Al might get the record, then call it a day, you never know, tho I think he's got more integrity than that.

Definately need another 'pacey' striker that can actually score
Ameobi is a joke at present and Kluivert needs confidence.
Michael Owen anyone, remember form is only temporary class is permanent
