Replacing header tank.
My header tank is leaking, so i replaced it, but Im having two problems,
Firstly now my car is idling at 2500-3000rpm and I cant get it to drop down.
And I cant seem to add any fluid to it the level wont drop when its hot or cold, even if I use brute force to hold the throttle closed and make it idle at 1000rpm fluid just pours out of the header tank.
Please help
Thanks
Dale

What do you actually mean ? Sounds like your idel problem is mechancial to me. Like the throttle is stuck open. Changing the header tank (which split on mine) should have no effect on the idle unless you have disturbed something/broke somthing else.
The way to tell if the car has enough water is to use the little filler tube by the right inner wing right at the front. The expantion tank is mearly as it says for esxpansion of the water. Use the level instead.

indeed the idle was mechanical, not sure how it happened but throttle cable was to tight now it idles at 1100rpm, what is the idle meant to be, and how is it adjusted?
I did do a search on bleeding the system, but all i could find was mainly bleeding the brakes.
Thanks.

Idle around 600 - 750 rpm. Let it idle from cold with the filler cap off, rev it a little with the throttle cable and watch untill no more air comes up. Also try to massage the water hoses gently (watch out for belts). Check the water level next day.
