Default Oil consumption STi '03 plate

I had a quick search on the forum and could not locate any posts on this subject.

What sort of amount of oil do your STi's consume?

I have gone from the full mark, the drilled hole whilst the oil was cold to the minimum mark in a space of two weeks! I have done about 500ish miles.

I know these engines do use oil, but boy!

What are yours like?

My 03 STi with 10.7k does not use any significant amount of oil between oil changes (3-4k) I'm currently running Millers 5/40 synthetic.

Well I have only had the car a few weeks, I hope this is just a case of struggling to get an accurate reading off my dip stick and it was not topped up properly by the garage.

If it uses this much I will be going through 1ltr per month...!

If it's filled to the top mark, it's got too much in! All it's doing is finding it's natural level. The normal practice is to run it halfway between the marks and you'll find it pretty much stays there.

has it got low miles? I have a WRX 03 and it used to use a fair bit of oil when new but seemed to get better at around 12k and uses very little now at 16K powerman
