unlike the classic models, the newage cars ECU cannot be reset by disconnecting the battery or coupling plugs together under the steering wheel. A dealer can reset it for you with their equipment or there are several compatible OBD2 ISO devices that will allow you to do it.

This was the cheapest one I could find (went for £36) and it does work with the MY01. It also allows you to turn off the CEL & establish why it came on. (laptop required)

thanks does that adapter just plug intop ecu easily?

Yes, it comes with all necessary cables to link the ECU to a 9 pin serial port via the OBD2 adapter itself.
