Hi all ..

Just a thought, would Prodrive have their hands on the new Impreza yet ??

If my memory serves my correct Ford let M-Sport have the Focus before the world had seen it in the flesh to develop the WRC car, has Subaru let Prodrive have it's new creation yet ?? Makes sense to let them have a body shell to start developing the next WRC car ... perhaps for the start of next season..

Anyone got any ideas's ....

Prodrive are rumoured to have had a few new Imprezas for some time now. Something which I don't think the've really tried to hide.

There were a few questions raised about there not being a coupe version, and whether this might cause Prodrive problems with the rear suspension travel. However, I seem to remember reading somewhere that David Lapworth had said that everything seemed to be going well, and that they hoped to start testing in October or November.

To be fair, Subaru are hardly like to give them 2 or 3 months to design and build the new cars before the 2001 season, so they've probably had them for months.

In Motoring News they have comments from Prodrive to say new car will test in less than six weeks and before end of september therefore as we all know Prodrive must have had new car for ages for development

They had one in April when we did the factory tour.

 

The new WRC will be exactly the same under the skin as the old one (which remember is only three months old now)

 

Sod the rallying. Prodrive have enough on
their plate bringing out a decent bodykit for the new Scooby.
