Reading the Autocar article, it states that the new Impreza in std form has 246bhp and 247lbft, But the car is around 100kg heavier.

Additionally to get through European emmisions it might have to be detuned.

So what will we get here ?

 

...and there is a completely different set of stats in Auto Express. It says 225bhp for the UK???

 

Errrr....I think you will find, whatever the mags may say, that the UK car will have **EXACTLY** the same power they have now (ie 218ps)

BUT the new shells are heavier so ultimately this means less power!

They will be uprating power later on when the six speed gearbox and tiptronic comes six months down the line.
