Default Are STI Type RA headers better than UK MY99?

I have seen some STI V4 headers for sale claiming they are less restrictive than those fitted to UK models (MY99 Turbo 2000).
Is this true, and is the difference worth fitting?

There is no difference. Take yours off and port out the joins with a dremel or similar to remove the restrictions and it'll flow really well. You can see what to take off by the carbon witness marks.

Just be mindful of the fact that it will flow more air, easier and you have a chance of running a bit lean and doing harm. An increase in fuel pressure will help. But ultimately there is no substitute for a remap.

Good luck David APi Engines / APi Impreza
