black smoke

Default black smoke

decided to take the car out yesterday, started her up and slightly reved it and a cloud of black smoke followed out the exhaust should i be worried ?

Dont worry mate its not your turbo as this would be blue smoke and every time you changed down a gear it would also smoke.Does sound like you have a problem though as black smoke indecates as overfueling so i would get it checked out cheers

Thought black was to do with fuel?

had it remapped last weekend so at first i thought we must have killed it but after speaking to andy he put my mind at rest telling me it was just the cold start on the ecu slightly overfueling and also it will be blowing the soot out of the exhaust
checked the compresion tonight whilst i changed the plugs and all 4 are showing 140+psi so it's back to haveing some fun
