Buying a secondhand scooby
Hi there.
i'm about to buy a UK spec scooby year 2000 and need some advice about what to look out for when i go look at it. it's privately owned so there will be no warranty so i need advice from you guys out there to tell me wot to look out for if its not worth buying or not.

Have you gone through the sale section on here m8,you tend to find cars on enthuisiast (sp) sites are more keenly looked after
other than that just check all the usual and listen out for whining turbo, knocking noises, steering straight when you let go of the wheel, smoke on startup etc

You shouldn't be relying on yourself alone to inspect the car...unless you're a qualified mechanic, with a good working knowledge of Scooby engines! Rule number 1 when buying a performance car: Independent inspection & HPI check by a reputable company or a specialist. Rule number 2: FSH is a MUST either Subaru or Subaru specialist. Rule 3: Talk to the owner, has the car been modded? If so, how? Get the owner to take you out in it, do they warm it up before extending it and let it cool down after? Do they know what oil is in it, what petrol do they run it on? A careful owner will know all of this! Follow the above rules and you'll be laughing, ignore them and prepare to bleed from the wallet! (even more so than owners of good examples do!
)Best wishes,
