Default MY04 STI MPG

Just out of curiosity, what MPG do you STI owners average?
Have just upgraded from MY03 WRX to MY04 STI, and I got quite a surprise at the filling station.
I always averaged 26 - 29 from the WRX, and getting into low 30s on a steady run, so I am not particularly heavy footed!
With the STI I am struggling to get much more than 20 around the doors, and mid 20s on a run.

Is this normal?

Easy answer is yes. Had my MY04 from new, done around 6500 miles on a mix of short / long runs. Monitored since first filling up, averages around 22 mpg, not too bad. I do seem to be in the local Shell garage more often than ever. Running Optimax.

Yep Had this shock too. Had a UK MY00 Turbo Scooob. Managed to get just over 200 Miles to a tank of Optimax. Now with the MY03 STi (Blobeye) manage arounf 180 miles, and in some cases having to visit the Shell Garage twice a week. Also the tyre wear is a lot more excessive I find. But that maybe because I am running on Bridgestome potenzas.

yep - MY03 Sti (with PPP), 19-20mpg ish, maybe 22 on a run.

not particularly heavy footed either - do 2/3 motorway to 1/3 back road blasts as a guess.

tyre wear pretty good though - got 25000 out of a set by careful front to back swapping (did this about 3 times to minimise wear!). also got alignment at about 10,000miles, which helped.
