Towing an Impreza
OK I have heard that you are not supposed to tow any AWD vehicle if it breaks down for example cos it can do damage. I have read this in my manual - however it doesn't explain why doing this can cause problems ? I am not looking to tow my scoob this way and would always ask for a flatbed
I'm just curious.....
Can anyone enlighten me please ?

is it to do with suspended tow, where either the front or rear wheels are suspended on a towing dolley/ tow truck etc.
That would cause wind up of the centre diff?
Can't imagine it would be a prob if all 4 wheels are on the road and turning when being towed. Only like freewheeling down a hill.

No liability will be accepted for any damage . . . blah blah blah . . .

Hmmm differing views here - I am quite surprised as I am sure I have been told before that you have to load a Scoob on a flat bed and not tow it, whether all 4 wheels or not ?
No problem towing a Subaru providing all four wheels are on the ground. However with a suspended tow, ie one axle lifted and one one on the ground you will destroy the centre differential.
