can any1 help im looking 4 cheap bhp im thinking of buying a cheap ajustable boost controller and blowing my turbo lol doz any1 no wot sort of bhp i can get with stock wrx 2001 with the ajustable boost ... ps it my 1st wrx .

 

Id personally wouldnt play with a manual boost controller if you dont know what your doing, go for the following mods, though more expensive, they are not as expensive as a new engine

Boost gauge (pod)
Remap
decat exhaust and back box

That should see you a good 60bhp increase though at a price
approx 400 for a decent exhaust
750 for the remap
various prices for the boost gauge, and if you are still toying with the idea of a manual boost controller you definately need one of these!
And a knocklink, always a handy bit of kit, approx 150 quid inc sensor

Oh and check with your insurance company about the following mods, they may not be happy or they may be happy, depends who your with, and id also suggest you do something with the brakes, pads/discs are the cheapest, put aside a few hundred for these (400)

It doesnt stop you blowing up, what it does is show you whats happening to the engine that you cannot see or hear, this way you have an indication of whats happening and you can have the option of carrying on or taking it easy until the problem (if any occure) can be corrected, personally its a peice of mind and a visible indication, and now i wouldnt be without one
